Roly,
"Sounds like a bus or lorry" suggests to me that you might be losing several
cylinders at once. Could this be some balancing fault? Both carbs OK at
tickover
but one of them going 'off beam' at higher revs? The result would be 3 pots
running fine but ther other 3 hardly working at all.
Only fifty miles since rebuild? I wonder if the valve timing has been
disturbed (might account for why its only done 50 miles since!) resulting in
tolerable engine conditions at tickover but problems at higher revs?
