[TR] TR3a gas tank

THE TR2 had the outlet on the right, the early TR3 in the center and the later 3As and Bs on the left.

I have a brand new TR3 tank (outlet in the middle) but wouldn’t be able to sell it until later next year.

Is the outlet for the early tanks on the left side correct? ISTR the easiest thing to do is to put an opening in the trunk in the middle and get the later tank. BUT I will tell you if you get a new OE tank, put a liter of gas in it, and rotate

BUT I will tell you if you get a new OE tank, put a liter of gas in it, and rotate the tank to test the joints. I conducted this test for two to three days. I have two tanks sitting in boxes that failed this simple test by leaking past the welds. If I could have gotten an aluminium tank ( thicker material ), I would have :-)

Just my experience
