[TR] [6pack] TR6 vs 240 Z

Back in the early 70’s I had two successive 240 Z cars. The first one was a 1972 before emissions equipment, it went like hell and was dependable and durable. I drove that one until the body was so compromised from New England winters that I had to give it up. I made the mistake of then buying a 1974 TR6 with emission controls. It was a dog comprehend to the 1972. As it happens, I have a brochure reprint of a head to head comparison of the TR6 and the 240 Z originally done by Road and Track. The advantage went to the 240 Z when speed picked up and aerodynamics came into play. I’m away now, but when I get home I’ll make a PDF of the brochure and post it to the list.
	Best,
	Bob

I spent a ton of time cutting and welding/brazing both the body and the frame. But in the end it was more solid than its original. And thanks to Ted with his frame strengthening kit. The Z however was uni-body. A good friend had one and it basically fell apart in the early 80's. He took it to a frame shop and they couldnt do a thing with it. And there is no way to restore it. At least on the 6, if the frame was shot, you could to to a junk yard and pick up one in decent shape, same with the fenders/ doors etc.
