[TR] TR2 bonnet cable

I have (finally) aligned the bonnet so that the cable system now operates -
what a job!

 

But the cable is a little frayed and I am worried it may not be long for
this life.  The original cable has an attractive, bone-colored knob, but is
no longer available.  Does anyone have suggestions on how to secure a new
cable while keeping the knob?

 

Or does anyone have a cable they would sell?
