Hi Dave,
I couldn’t agree more with your comments below. When I restored my TR4A, I did it with reliability at the top of the list. I started off with Dan Master’s excellent wire harness and have recently replaced the stock differential with Richard Goods R200 differential kit, CV joint half shafts, rear hubs and Nylatron swing arm bushings.
I drove me TR4A all the time and not just locally:
2019 - Watkins Glen and on to Stowe,Vt. 3000 miles
2012 - Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix 800 miles
Zanesville,Oh. down to the Ohio River next week (? Miles)
They are too much fun to let them sit in the garage!!

But forty years later these cars are hobbies and for tech savvy owners part of the appeal is to make the improvements that the factory couldn't afford to do. And take advantage of hindsight. And take advantage of technological improvements that came along after these cars were produced. And all this can be executed in a manner that preserves the character and driving experience intended by the builders in the first place.
