 Good point.  I haven't burned any switches but I have had one disconnect occasionally and I needed to unscrew it a bit and re-tighten it to restore power.  Then I had to reprogram my radio presets :-(  And reset the clock.

when using the switch turn the knob firmly when reconnecting the battery in to the circuit.   
I have a friend, who was burning up the disconnect switches regularly and getting stranded.   He did not tighten firmly and the switch was arcing.
