I was very happy with the Coker Classics on our TR3A, definitely not a performance tire but it was a smooth and quiet on the road and balanced easily. They aged out before the mileage limit was hit, but I'd consider using them again.

Subject: [TR] Tires

Hello All,

I am mounting my new 15" x 5" Dayton wires on my 1959 TR3A. While I do favor Michelin tires in the 165-15 size we are leaning toward whitewalls. It looks like only Coker Classics or Coker BF Goodrich whitewalls are available in the 165-15 size. Has anyone had any experience with either one or have any suggestions for different manufacturers that offer whitewall tires?

The Coker salesman said the Coker's were only warranted for 28,000 miles, the BFG's for 40,000 but the Michelin's for 70,000+. It will be many years before we accumulate 20,000+ miles on our TR3 so I am not too concerned over tread life but would like a radial that rides well, corners well, is safe, and has some rain performance in the event we are caught in weather somewhere.

Any experiences with these tires and suggestions will be truly appreciated.

Sincerely,
Randall Reihing
1959 TR3A
