The weakest part of the Early TR  & Jaguar thin , non vented solid Rotor Brake parts was the edges rusted and destroyed the pads. Since about 1970 I have,  Every Year, like my airplane Annual Inspections,  always derusted and painted my aircraft,  TR & Jaguar  (especially rear subframe rotor)  disc edges (and hubs) with hi temp silver paint. Sherman D Taffel Columbia MD & Goldvein VA 65 TR4, 4 Jags, 5 Jensens, 16 Dependable Americans '36-'15

Noise still present? I would do to the top edge of the rotor and cut it back a bit, both sides, ALL the way around. I would drive the car if the noise is still present remove the rotor and consider spraying a really thin coat of paint on it towards it?s center. Carefully drive the car. The brake pad should remove the paint in a clear manner. Any strange marks? If so polish/sand as needed.I think it is likely the issue will be found ON the rotor.
