No, it wouldn’t.  If that’s engine oil, I’d suspect it leaked from the rear main seal, and a likely culprit is pressure in the crankcase.  Would be worth checking your engine’s ventilation system.  If it’s transmission fluid, then its either the front main seal of the tranny, or the gasket under the cover at the front of the layshaft.

Either way, you don’t want a pool of oil in the bell housing for the clutch to pick up.

I can see oil is coming out here.  Would it make any sense to put a gasket in there?  Plug that hole?  Is that bad or simply pointless?
