[TR] TR3 steering box

Could it be Moss? I helped install one on a brother’s TR3A nearly 10 years ago. Steering was so much lighter, more accurate – hard to believe it was the same car. But, the installation required that the fan be removed and replaced with an electric fan. Also, the design ends up placing each tie rod end at a very steep angle rather than being nearly straight out of the rack. I don’t know if that will cause accelerated wear with so much side loading.

Subject: [TR] TR3 steering box

I have a friend who is restoring a TR3.

He says it only turns right.

He has asked me who restores steering boxes, and who makes the rack and pinion conversion.

Concours is not a concern.

He is interested in different opinions and recommendations, so i am passing that on to you.
