The ground on the plate to the battery terminal is 0.000 ohms, that I checked when I replaced the braided wire

....added to my last comment (after looking at the pics again)

your screw holding the points plate down, that you have the eyelet of the bare ground wire under.... makes sure that screw is CLEAN under the rim of the screw to get a good ground to the dist body
