Many sites suggest 10 years is the maximum tire life limit even if they have not been used. An example of this is: " Tire manufacturers such as Continental and Michelin say a tire can last up to 10 years, provided you get annual tire inspections after the fifth year."

Is there a point at which “new” tires should not be used? I have a set of unused 165 x 15 tires marked 2409, indicating they were manufactured in June 2009. Any issues putting them on a car?
