[TR] TR3 Leaf Springs

Totally agree. Normally the drivers side gets weaker first, not always a passenger in the car. If the pass side broke, the drivers side is still worn. I'd want a fresh new set. As the manuals state....false economy not to change some parts. Cost isn't much but can be a big job.

If know your "friend in Vermont" he doesn't carry new parts. So are you
thinking of getting a used one ?

Personally, I'd spring (sorry about the pun) for new ones - and I'd get a
pair as the other side is likely to be worn / saggy / whatever.

I just bought a pair from Albert at TRF - and I thought he was reasonably
priced.

Subject: [TR] TR3 Leaf Springs

On acceleration this week, I heard a loud snapping pop from the rear
passenger side. Investigation shows broken leaf spring. Quite the sag on
that side! Anyway, I can source a spring from my friend in Vermont. But
question first.

When replacing leaf springs on one side with used, is there a reason why you
should do it on both sides? I can't think of one.

Thanks, everyone,
Terry
