[TR] D Type Overdrive

I am undertaking the refurbishment of a D-Type overdrive unit and I see that
there is no gasket between the brake ring and the halves of the case
assembly.  The Haynes manual specifies using "jointing compound" on the
mating surfaces.  What is the recommended stuff that is available today for
this purpose?
