[TR] Bumps on Generator Pulley

     Why do generator pulleys have the three bumps on the leading face?
Balancing? Centrifugal force for some reason?

     I am using a alternator inside a generator housing on my Standard
Vanguard engine Morgan and the 6 bladed cooling fan hits those three bumps.
I can either trim the plastic fan blades with a grinder or turn off the
three bumps on my lathe.
