A little off Brad. According to the SPC, CT 5642 was the last car with the older type stay rod.

The metal rod style was used up through around the first 600 TR4s. My old TR4, CT288, had the metal rod.

I have seen both styles. Probably an early vs. later production thing.

The TR4 I just bought has a trunk support rod, not the telescoping unit I would have expected. Anyone seen this before or is it just a case of some rather nice fabricating by a previous owner?
