[TR] How often should I change oil in triumph that rarely does much mileage?

That kind of driving results in unburned gas and moisture getting into the oil. The gas will dilute the oil and reduce its lubricant properties, while the moisture could lead to the formation of acids, which will promote corrosion. I would change the oil annually at the very least. Just think of it as cheap insurance.

I drive about 600 - 800 miles a year if that. Most of the time its short stop start trips .

Based on the old rule of thumb where some would say about 3000 miles between oil changes, that would be 5 years.

Is this frequency OK?
Based on my records I keep, its been about 5 years since its last oil change.
