[TR] [NET] TR3A Torque Spec?

I asked the same question some years ago and was never able to get an answer – so I too am interested.

Given the importance of this bolt, I have always torqued it just as tight as I can – with a wrench on the bolt and a big pipe wrench on the extension. All my weight on them.

Thank you Richard. But the bolt I'm inquiring about is the main bolt

holding the fan (and the fan extension) to the crankshaft. It is a 6"

long bolt with a 5/8-18 UNF thread for the last couple of inches.

This is Moss P/N 320-090... Item 69 in the attached clip:

Does your manual specify a torque for this bolt?

David,

According to Triumph Owners Handbook of Maintenance and Repair, Floyd Clymer Publications, VelocePress, 2009, p. 316, the torque for "Fan Attachment," 5/16 inch U.N.F. Bolt is 16-18 lbs. ft.

I hope this is helpful.

Hey all;

Can anyone tell me if there is a torque spec for the large bolt used to connect

the fan to the end of the crankshaft (the bolt goes through the pulley hub and

the fan extension) ? I didn't see a torque spec anywhere....

Thanks for any help.
