[TR] [NET] Ball joint fitment

Dave: I used their ball joints on a car just a couple of months ago and all was good. May have been a different batch, or something, but this might be a good time to stop and reassess the situation. Make sure all your parts are straight, the ball joint is fitting correctly, the A-arms are correctly aligned, etc., etc.

I am not suggesting you are doing anything wrong, but sometimes we get too close to the problem (I must get this together – the MD approach) and instead need to step back and ask if you are missing anything (the PhD approach).

At the end of the day this may be just another situation requiring adaptability as you deal with a car that was never that precise and has had 60 years of history….

Good luck ! And good to know you are still a TRF fan !

Andrew

Andrew;

I contacted TRF yesterday. Their response was to send me replacement parts. So I am a well satisfied customer but still don't understand why the parts don't assemble the way they are designed to... I will try to elongate the cotter pin hole closer to the tip of the stem...Didnt mean to sound like I was disparaging TRF. I have been a satisfied customer of theirs for over 20 years...

I have dealt exclusively with TRF for some years now and have found them to
be far more accommodating than the other usual retailers. It is amazing
they do what they do, given they have such a small staff.

I usually take my cars to Larry Learn (another great guy) to have him
complete the interiors and while there, try to make a point of swinging
round to Armagh to see Albert.

By the way, how many people know that there is another Armagh, the Christian
seat of Ireland? There are two hills which span the city: there is a
Catholic cathedral on one and a Church of Ireland cathedral on the other.
And yes, they are both names after St. Patrick ! (And one final point - one
quirk of history is that perhaps the best known of all saints has never
actually been beatified by a pope!)

I agree with Randall, although I certainly can't guarantee anything, my
experience with TRF is that they pride themselves in servicing triumph cars
and want to provide the correct parts.
