[TR] TR3 Steering wheel question

I don’t know if anyone replied, but I posted a similar question a couple of years ago (maybe more) and it was suggested I fill the cracks with Liquid Nails, sand it all down and then paint with an epoxy black. Since then I have probably restored 5 or 6 and all looked great.
My problem is a potential buyer who wants the original steering box but a smaller steering wheel.
Dave – you should give it a try. Not too difficult and a great feeling of accomplishment.

What I'd love to know is, does anyone know of a source to restore Triumph stock steering wheels? My TR3 has an adjustable 2-piece column and the wheel is of the split-spoke design. I'd love to get it restored and, since no NOS stock seems to be available, what can be done (other than using an aftermarket wheel)?

The list seems quiet these days – so I’ll ask another question !
The two TR3s I have kept for myself both have rack and pinion steering and 14’ steering wheels. I am currently restoring another small-mouth and need a steering wheel. The car has the original steering box.
Question: does anyone have experience using a smaller wheel with a steering box? Or is the steering just too heavy?
