I have the wide pulley on the new alternator, so wide belt all the way around.  My thoughts was the grooves would seat better since was more flexable.

I suppose it depends on what pulley is used on the alternator -- that belt is ¾" wide which is likely wide enough to work well on stock TR pulleys but would probably be too wide to do well on an alternator that is expecting a narrower belt.

But - I haven't tried anything like that.
