[TR] Well this is out of left field but does anyone know

The shifter shaft on my TR3A is indeed threaded as 7/16-32. A nut this size
is unobtainable from McMaster-Carr. Faced with the same problem a few years
ago, I hogged out a ¼” stainless nut, bought a 7/16-32 tap (it IS available
from McM-C for 30 bucks), and threaded it. It works and looks fine, but 30
bucks for a nut? It must be love. I’ve never found another use for this tap.

 

If Greg G has them, buy one from him.
