[TR] A type O/D leak - operating lever

They used two different pins in the lever. Some were split pins, which can be driven out in any direction. Others were taper pins, which have  big and little side. They must be driven in the correct direction. I have replaced these with the tranny cover off and the transmission in the car. The O-ring is in a groove in the case on the outside and can be replaced after removing the lever. You have to be gentle when driving on the lever as you don't want to bend the shaft. The key is deciding which way the taper is going. Clean each end good and decide which end is which. A good punch of the correct size is a must. Can be done if you are patient and careful. Don't get in a hurry and bang the hell out of it.
