And why is there a guy selling frozen beaver tails on Craigslist in New Hampshire?
well, speaking for myself only. by the time they got to me here in California, if they were not frozen they would be spoiled.

 Subject: [TR] Fearless Fostick

I'm hoping some of you may remember Fearless Fostick, because I don't.  I do seem to recall he was some sort of villain.  If so, then it's appropriate to compare him to...Lucas.

Had wires hanging below my dash when I drove off at lunchtime.  Parked.  Pushed them up behind the dash so I wouldn't entangle my fingers when I shifted.  Mistake.  Drove away and got 50 feet when the electric fuel pump quit.  20 minutes to re-wire it to the coil and all went fine back to work and to home.

In my garage, I checked the fuel pump, good.  Pulled the dash and began troubleshooting.  Weird, then the headlights stopped working.  Read voltage and headlight switch showed power in, but nothing out. Connections were solid.  Jumpered the posts and headlights worked.  Headlight switch was bad.  Yeesh!

Panel lights still didn't work.  Checked the fuse with an ohm meter.  Good.  But dash panel lights didn't work.  Tried resetting the fuse in its holder.  Nothing.  Changed the fuse anyway.  Now the dash panel lights worked fine.  Yeesh!  To be fair, the fuse wasn't a Lucas.  But it was in a Lucas holder, so I'm going to blame them anyway.  Hey, they're easy prey.

Shipswright disease.  Had the panel out and switches accessible, had to replace the headlight switch anyway, so took youse all advice, and sourced some original used switches from my good friend Mike Bonaducci in Vermont, despite his state is upside down on the map.  His number, in case anyone needs used parts, is 802-439-5815.  NFI, but I do vouch for him.

Installed the new used switches tonight.  For the first time in 13 years, I have original bakelite knobs that go over the little spring loaded doo-hickies and the names on the knobs--no, I mean it!--actually match their function:  headlights instead of panel lights, for instance.  Hey, this is a daily driver that I'll never impress with at Concourse, but will amaze 12 year old boys on bicycles who yell happily at me every day.

Everything works like it should.

So why did they call him Fearless...Fostick?  And why is there a guy selling frozen beaver tails on Craigslist in New Hampshire?

Nice to be thinking of something else....
