Andrew -
I believe the 40698A was used on most TR3As and TR4s, the 40795A on TR4As.
Both the curves and vacuum advance are different -- but I am not sure how
critical those differences are. As I recall the 40795A has a lower total
advance.

That said, my late-TR4 came to me with a 40795A on it - possibly original -
and I have never changed it.
