Ladies and Gents, I've no idea whether MJB will allow this on the list but
it applies to all British makes, including Triumph - and it made me LOL when
I heard it a few days ago on the radio while enjoying my breakfast.

Within the last week, a famous UK politician who was very left wing has
died. While I never endorsed his views, he often had a lot to say that was
worth listening to because of his way with words - and he rarely minced
them. On a series of 'sound bites' on the BBC three days ago, one of the
politician's recordings was replayed.

He said, "My life has been a very full one and I've visited the United
States on many occasions, which visits I always greatly enjoyed through
meeting so many enthusiastic and kind people. Indeed, on one occasion I was
given the honour of actually addressing the US Senate and on this occasion,
the chamber was full to capacity and I'm sure it wasn't because everyone had
come to hear me. I had no real idea on what to speak about and it was
suggested by the President's Office that my memories of the former British
Empire would be welcomed by many. I prepared my speech with great care and
made a point of stressing that seventy plus years ago "the British Empire
was a union of countries across the globe on which the sun never set." I
paused for a moment or two to let the words sink in and - with many others
assembled there, was greatly amused to hear a voice from the back of the
chamber with an accent that suggested it came from the Deep South saying in
a loud voice "that's because God never trusted an Englishman in the dark."

You see, that's why it was so important for the British motor industry,
including Standard-Triumph to supply Lucas products on all its vehicles :)
I'm sure there are many suitable (and better) wiring diagrams on the third
shelf on the right just inside St. Peter's Gate, though whether I'll ever
get to see any of them is highly doubtful.
