[TR] TR3A Side curtains

The metal brackets (with the zeus-fasteners) that attach the side curtains to
the door in my 60 TR3A are currently painted silver  I was thinking of
painting them black, to match the black vinyl covering of both the side
curtains and the interior of the car.   Would that be appropriate, or does it
matter?  The car has the top down 350 days a year, so it matters little, but

And if it is appropriate, should it be flat or gloss black?
