[TR] rear cap sealing

I remember doing this on my tr-3.  I had the same thing happening with goop
leaking out the sides when I pounded.  I'm thinking this is just the way it
works.  With so much leaking out I think maybe I let up on my "stuffing" the
stuff in and I find i do have some rear bearing leak now.  It's not to the
point of any concern but if I were doing it over again I think I would have
just kept "pounding" it full to the top.LOL  

Bu what do others who have
"been there done that" think?
