That 1312 sounds like the calibration number.  If so, that would be for a car with a 4.1 axle.  Most TR4s (even with OD) had a 3.7
axle, and a calibration number around 1120.

They've changed the formula for Endust, the new stuff doesn't work as well, IMO.

Even a soft cloth was enough to take off the lettering on my TR3 speedo.  I used a camel's hair artists brush instead, and only
worked up to the edge of the lettering.

I would also want to disassemble the mechanism enough to clean and regrease the gears that drive the odometer and trip meter.  The
original grease will be more like gravel by now.
