Exactly.

And note that the car may be "different" even if the diameters match, if the spare tire is not the same as on the other 3 corners.
Even different model tires from the same maker will have different slip angle characteristics, which may cause traction to be worse
(especially in a corner) than with either model of tire on both sides.  The under/over steer characteristics will likely be
different too, and likely will vary even between turning right or left (meaning the odd tire is on the inside or outside of the
turn).

BTW, another advantage of using a "compact" spare tire is that they supposedly don't "age out" like regular road tires do.  The
internal construction is different, and no steel belts to corrode.
