thanks for all the responses to the soldering issue. My problem was that i was trying to use the wrong solder, also needed to tighten the screws on my soldering gun and i also was unaware that the tip fo the gun needed to be tinned also. All those changes made a huge difference, especially using the right solder! thanks again! gary n.
