[TR] What Is It?

I always liked the Alvis TD/TF series - very elegant cars.

One of the teachers at my grammar school (= high school in USA) had what I 
think must have been a TA saloon.  This was in the early sixties.  He made 
very grand entrances, as you can imagine, as it purred up the driveway. 
Coincidentally (going back to a previous guess as to what the original car 
was), another of my teachers had a Jowett Javelin, which required a good 
solid push to start it.  As you can imagine, we were very enthusiastic 
pushers...
