[TR] Triumph GT6 MK1 door side mirror placement

Hello all,

One thing I've never been able to figure out is what is the correct 
location for side mirror placement on the GT6 or Spit.  I've seen them 
on the doors and on the bonnet.  My mirror is useless as it is located 
just off the vent window.  If I sat in the hatch area it would be fine.  
Can't see a damn thing with a quick glance.  I have to really contort 
myself to see anything other then the side of the car.  I have made all 
the necessary adjustments but no real improvement.  I'm thinking of 
moving it the bonnet and closing over the hole on the door.  Anybody 
know what the true correct placement is suppose to be?  Is there a 
traffic/safety regulation that prohibits moving the mirror(s) to the 
bonnet?  I have the car registered in Maryland.

Any thoughts?
