[TR] radiator contamination

My question is where the blue gunk was applied.  

Guy at work has a small MG.  Told me he was planning to replace the head gasket using the silicon to seal.  I advised against it, but he did it anyway.

My worry is the strings not only get into the coolant, but can't it also get into the oil so's you'd almost not know until too late?
