Yeah, good stuff.  Good books too.  As I recall, in the earlier books 
Morse drove a Lancia but the TV shows changed it to a Jaguar.  And if 
I remember right, in the later books the author (Colin Dexter) had 
him driving a Jaguar, a clear case of the books bowing to the success 
of the TV.
