Can probably happen 2 ways...

1.  Misty oil is getting slung around and vented via that tube so I
would think there will be some residue left that could drip after
parking.

2.  The thing can leak where it goes into the block -- can be
prevented/fixed with some sealant there.  The drip might appear to be
coming from the tube itself.
