Yep.  I finally replaced mine when I had the exhaust system removed...
would have been tricky to get at the LH one with the muffler in place.
 They come (from Moss)already split.  As I recall I used a big zip-tie
around the fattest part of the buffer to hold it in place while it did
the twisty wire on each side... then cut and removed the zip tie when
done.
