The few times I've ever been to a show and voted for a Participants' 
(or Peoples') Choice I preferred cars which looked driven.  If (for 
example) the exhaust header is still factory-fresh with no sign of 
ever having been heated beyond room temperature or if there is no 
road dirt anywhere under the bonnet, I figure it isn't be used as a 
Triumph should be used.  But that's just my opinion.
