Ahhh - cleverly hidden in the subject line.  Oops!

Okay, I'll add a vote for test by connecting the 2 wires at the switch.
Those pressure switches are notoriously finicky, also the connections (at
least the screw connections on mine) can be fussy and really want to be
clean and tight to work properly.
