Yep, with everything connected, hook one end of the test light to the point
side of the coil and the other to ground.

When the points are open you will get a light, when points are closed light
will be off.  Be sure to remove the coil wire from the dist and clip it to
ground, then turn on the key.  It is possible to have a engine kick if you
manually make a spark.
