  Yes Randall....I've already had the apron off last fall when I put in an electric fan, and removed the old fan and extension.
 In the attempt to find the cause of the knock. You were of help to me then, as well.....
  Would a bad lifter make a knocking sound??

pulling the front apron as much as I do, you can start by pulling the head &
pan with the engine still in the car.
