[TR] modern rear oil seal. tr3

any one had any experience with the modern rear oil seal for the TR3?
my instructions tell me machine 2 more oil drain holes in the rear main  cap.
did you do it?
did it work better?
if you did not do it, have you noticed any difference?
any other words of wisdom not included in the instructions?
