Someone has led you astray, Bob.  If your thermosat is calibrated for 
Fahrenheit then your radiator couldn't possibly be producing degrees 
Celsius.  Unless of course a PO installed a degree converter, which 
would be a serious originality violation, in my opinion, no matter 
how well hidden.
