Do you have a PCV valve? Notice that #3 gets all the engine blowby added via the PCV circuit. If the rings are worn at all, the plug will be less happy. Mine usually foul wet rather than powdery; I have at times resorted to running a hotter plug in #3 than the others. Best, chris
