[Tigers] Fwd: Wiper Blades

The wiper blades that Ron suggested work on my original wiper arms. In
this photo you can see my old blade on top and the new Trico 11" 33-111 on
the bottom. The attachment bracket looks a little different but it snaps
right on to my original wiper arms.

I was never able to find any other blade where I could just pull out the
rubber part and use that on my original blades. On the original blade I
have the thin piece of metal that contains the rubber part is 10.6mm wide
and .83mm thick. Everything I was able to look at at the parts stores was
thicker and wider and would not fit into my original wiper blade frame.

I'm happy to now have a pair of good, functional blades.

Have Fun,
Joe Brown

Generally, the rubber wiper is held in a stainless steel slide that will
pull out of the arm.

I don’t know what to make of the LIFT pieces other than they lock the slide
to the arm.

I would not think the rubber wiper is bonded to the slide, it should come
apart.

The wiper usually has a “T” profile the slide goes into.

I don’t have original wiper blades or arms and I’m not sure I have any
original wiper parts anywhere.

Hi Ron,

I don't think I can just slide out the rubber part. The rubber is bonded
to a metal blade that slides into the rest of the wiper. And on each end
there is a piece of metal that prevents it from sliding out. This piece of
metal at each end has "lift" stamped on it which makes me think I should be
able to slide out the metal/rubber piece, but I haven't figured it out
yet. I looked at a bunch of wipers at the auto parts places but I didn't
see any that looked like they would slide into what I have.

I looked at the Trico blades in the link you sent me and I think I will
order the "classic" version and see if they will fit my wiper arms. I'll
let the list know what I find out.

Thanks,

Joe Brown

Do you only need to replace just the wiper blade?

Buy a 22” wiper – pull the rubber blade out – cut in half – pull the old
blade out – insert new blade.

Rock Auto does show 11” wipers.

Hey,

What are people doing for replacement wiper blades? The ones on my car
were made by Anco and are about 11" long. They mount to the wiper arms
with a snap in mount that doesn't seem to be used by anybody anymore. Here
is a picture of what I have. I don't know if they are original to the car
or not.

Thanks,
