[Tigers] The latest problem: Surging

I should have added this info at the start: Stock 260, original carb,
original points type ignition.

Things I've tried since my original message:

Tightened the nuts on the carb mounting studs, and the screws that hold the
top on, nothing was loose

All the electrical connections seem tight, no corrosion.

Let the car warm up again, and it started doing it a little.

The old carb cleaner trick: I sprayed carb cleaner all over anything that
might have a vacuum leak, carb base, hoses, and so on... nothing happened

With the timing light connected, I watched the advance as a couple dips
happened... no change, timing was right where I left it, and I could not
detect any missing flashes during the dip.

And, after a few minutes, it stopped doing it.

So that's it for today. Tomorrow is busy, Monday I'll take it for a drive
and see if it's any different, or if any more clues appear.
