Stu,I feel your pain. My passenger seat was in pretty good shape. All the screws came out easily with an impact driver and WD40. My drivers seat was much worse. Two of the 2-1/4" screws broke off. I cut the end plate off to gain access to the screws. One still had about 1/2" sticking out and was able to remove with wise grips, heat and WD40. Not too much heat because the threaded sleeve is brazed into the tube. Had a machine shop remove the other screw broken off flush and reweld the end plate. Lots of surface rust and some bent metal I was able to straighten. I was surprised there was so much rust since the floorboards in the car were rust free.Frames are being powder coated this week.Jim DSent from my Galaxy

I'm rebuilding my seats. After a considerable thrash, I got all the last hinge screw out of the Driver's seat, and carefully went through all the remaining steps, learning as I went. So the second seat should be a breeze, right? So Saturday morning I started ripping into the passenger seat, making as much progress in that morning as I had in two weeks on the first one. Until...As you can see in the photos, one of the large tubes has separated from the frame at the front end, and is bent inward an inch or so. And there are now some serious cracks in the tube that this tube is welded to in the back.Rather than an impact, I'm wondering if someone of significant weight tried standing on the seat, and a weak weld on the tube surrendered. Has anyone else ever seen a failure like this?So I'll be visiting a welder tomorrow morning. .
