[Tigers] New paints

My 1964 Tiger thanks to a mishap  and good insurance is getting a complete
repaint,  my question is what is now the preferred paint used today . My
cars color is midnight blue,  I believe 58 is the number. Should I do base
coat clear coat.
I hear their is water based paints now, I'm not to up on the new products.
Any ideas are appreciated. Beau
