[Tigers] Monster Tiger for sale on Bring a Trailer

Here’s my 2 cents worth: I doubt a $55K Tiger would perform there in a way that would thrill most Tiger owners. Some in the Ap/Bp class spend over $50K for one competitive legal 289 SFB race engine. (not me) (And it’s always nice to have a spare.)

This “Bp” class is for production cars. In the past the Monster has been allowed to run in it. Other prototypes have run in it as well when their performance matches the “Bp” class better than those in the official prototype class. But that was in the past. I have no idea what the future will be with the new changes at Laguna Seca.

One thing that’s for sure – The “Monster” is one awesome machine!

Apologies.

I agree with you. No way!! Not sure you could by a tiger that would be worth racing for $55k

Ah, no. That was not my point. One of the commenters was saying that he could easily buy a Monterey race ready Tiger for half of the current bid. It seemed he was questioning whether the extra cost is worth it for this car’s history.

I haven't seen this mentioned here. So I thought I'd bring it up:

I note that one of the commenters says that for $55,000 someone can buy a Monterey race ready Tiger. I know that some race cars from 60s sports cars are less than their high end car show brothers. But $55?

We're restoring a 1962 Elva MkVI right now with full sights on Monterey. So both historically accurate, immaculate as can be, but 100% full race ready - every part as strong and straight as should be. I find it hard to believe a Tiger in comparable condition would be $55,000.
