Holly red is far too noisy, avoid if possible.

I'm not a huge fan of the holley red (although I do have one in the tiger, I wouldn't replace it with the same). It's very noisy and it tends to get gummed up quite easily if left standing for long periods. I've had to clean it up a few times. I've generally been far happier with carter pumps.

FWIW, there are definite fake Facets out there. I have not had trouble with any Facet I knew was real.

Im a long time viewer of this list and now I have a need for some advice. My Carter fuel pump quit after 20 years and would like to replace with something compatible. It has a separate Fram cannister filter. The engine is a 302 Ford Motorsports and about 270hp. It has a Holley 1850 carb. Any suggestions?

I’ve been running a Carter centrifugal for about 12 years and really like it. It’s mounted in the boot (mkII style). It is a bit noisy, but can’t be heard over the headers, flowmaster mufflers and wind nose.

I used to have a Carter. It was a rotary type - no pump-pump sound. Replaced it in about '08 when the car was restored. All in all, I wish I had my old Carter back.

Oh, I definitely agree, I wouldn't replace the Holley with another...but, the darn thing keeps working and I'm cheap. But, nope, no way I'd recommend! ;)
I've had no blockage problems since I put the car back together, which included doing the tanks and new lines/hoses. But, I also remember the screen getting blocked after I first installed it in 1994.
